Obituary of Dona Lee Williams
Dona Williams, age 65, of Deer Isle and formerly of Medford MA, passed peacefully on October 11 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dona was born September 19, 1952 in Winchester, MA to Willard L. and Joan L. (Webber) Williams. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and earned a Masters Degree in education from Leslie College in Boston. She later taught school in Bogota Columbia, Texas, Boston and Deer Isle, which became her home in 2012 because of her love of the beautiful area and the wonderful people who reside there.
Dona was predeceased by her father. She leaves behind her mother Joan, of Medford, MA; brother, Stephen Williams of Salem, NH and son Derek Williams and his wife Candy of Windham, NH; brother Gary Williams, his wife Karen (Spinney) Williams and their children James and Dana Williams of Hudson, NH; sister Joni (Williams) Matthews, her husband Alan Matthews and their children, Joshua Matthews and fiancé Jen Bobola of Peabody, MA, and Jena, Jake and Jared Matthews all of Windham, NH; brother Ken Williams, his wife Lisa (Spellman) Williams and their children Anna, Lily and Connor of Norwell, MA; brother Gregory Williams, his wife Joyce (Enright) and their children Fergus and Flannan of Belmont, MA; and sister-in-law Penny (Maxner) Williams of Salem.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 11 am at Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High Street, Medford, MA 02155.
A memorial service will be held in Deer Isle, Maine at a later date.
