Sue and I shared many experiences together and had a lot in common. We initially met at the USM Muskie School of Public Service and shared an office side by side. We had sons the same age and often celebrated their milestones together, or consoled each other when there were concerns. Sue stayed my friend until the end, even after I moved away. What I admired most about Sue was her devotion to family. Family always came first. She was so good to her friends, too. No matter how difficult life became, she remained kind and giving. She was a light in the world , a giver and a contributor. I will miss you, Sue. I love you, and thank you for being the best friend ever.

I worked with Sue at the USM Muskie School of Public Service years ago. She was my supervisor at that time and I considered her my inspirational mentor in the way she confidently handled herself and her deep passion for educating others. She had a great sense of humor and shared it often. She had a distinctive laugh that stayed with you when she filled the room with it. My prayers go with the family I know she loved dearly. I'm so sorry to hear of your, really humanity’s loss. My contact with Sue was as a colleague. She was a woman you could look up to, and emulate. There was more than one time after dealing with her, I'd think to myself, she's amazing and such a fantastic trainer. Pose, grace, intelligence and kindness are all words to describe this woman. I was lucky to have worked with her. Heaven has a bright new star.

Our daughter, Maryann was a dear friend of Sue and that was how we got to know her. We shared some time together playing cards with Sue and our daughter and I also shared a class with Sue at Senior College. She was a very kind, considerate and loving person and we cherish the time we spent with her. It is with sadness that we mourn her passing and offer her family our deepest sympathy. Rest in peace Sue. Connie & Ike Lecompte

So very saddened to read this. Met Sue when she worked for the Muskie Institute and I worked for the State of Maine. We worked together on various programs and have kept in contact. Always bright and cheerful. We have been FB friends for a long time now sharing grandchildren stories and health issues, the big ones. My heart goes out to all of you. Peter Mauro Jr

My sympathy on the death of Susan. I met her as a member of the board at the Lewiston-Auburn Senior College. In talking to her I found out that we both attended the University of Maine in Machias at different times. May you always remember her with happy memories. Sharon McGilvery
