Obituary of Eddie James Dubay
Presque Isle Maine - Eddie J. "Perpy" Dubay peacefully passed away on September 16th 2017 surrounded by his family, who he laughed with, lived for and loved unconditionally.
Eddie was born on June 8, 1947 in Sheridan Maine, the son of Lewis and Mae Dubay. He was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He loved working with his hands and created several cherished gifts for many people. He also loved working in his garden that he also shared by donating to local shelter or families in need. He enjoyed selling vegetables and fiddleheads through the spring, summer, and fall for local farmers. He could be found spending his time on Main Street in his truck with “Big Ed’s Fiddleheads” sign on the doors.
Eddie was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Sharon, with whom he spent many years living, laughing, loving and teasing each other, two brothers, Frederick and Lewis Dubay as well as 3 sisters, Gladys Dubay, Pauline Dubay and Geneva Donnelly.
Eddie is survived by his son Eddie Dubay of Presque Isle, his daughter Shirley Caron and her husband Jason of Presque Isle. He is also survived by two very special grandsons Brandon and Bryson who nicknamed him Perpy. Eddie was a devoted grandfather who was always there for his grandsons. He enjoyed picking them up and taking them for rides out to the Amish families and showing them the “way life should be”. He enjoyed the simplest things and wanted his grandsons to as well. He also leaves behind three sisters: Beatrice Corbin of Augusta, Lucy Dubay of Ashland and Geraldine Michaud of Presque Isle; a special niece Kathy Fortin of Mass. and several other nieces and nephews. His best friends and companions were his dog, Bella and his cat, Squeak.
At Eddies request there will be no calling hours or service. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
