Obituary of Steven Joel Fyrberg
EAST ANDOVER – Steven Joel Fyrberg, 61, of East Andover, died on August 17, 2017 at Rumford Hospital after a life long battle with diabetes.
He was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts on August 20, 1955. He was the son of Judith and the late Roland Fyrberg. After spending summers on Richardson Lake, the Fyrberg family moved to East Andover in 1969 where Steve lived the rest of his life. He attended Telstar High School and graduated in the class of 1973. After graduation he worked in the logging industry and as a local carpenter. Steve would go on to build a home for his family on Farmers Hill Road. The family home was a source of great pride for Steve. He cut every log, planed every board and showed his children how to nail down sub floors and gather stones for the chimney. Together they built the log home from the ground up.
Steve’s life passions were his children and boating and camping trips. His favorite spot was Richardson Lake; he spent many weekends up to the lake with his family and his dog Maggie.
He was predeceased by his brothers Clay and Glen Fyrberg.
He is survived by his mother, Judith Fyrberg, of East Andover, ME; his sister, Heidi and husband Michael Bean, of Milton Township, ME; his children, daughter Liza Fyrberg and boyfriend Mitchell Perry, of Newport, ME, son Forest and wife Kim, of Waterville, ME, daughter Shannon and husband Michael Klein of Lake Placid, NY; their mother, Donna and husband Donald Leveille, of Shelburne, NH; five grandchildren, Lucas, Annika, and Keira Fyrberg, and Eleanor and Hazel Klein; along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
