Obituary of Clyde J. White
Clyde J. White, Sr.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Clyde “Jack” White Sr. of Oakland Maine passed away on August 8, 2017.
Jack was born in Chattanooga Tennessee on March 26, 1929. His journey led him to Maine where he met the love of his life, Beverly. They were married in September 1950. They shared a long life together and have two children, Clyde and Linda.
Jack gave his family many gifts, to his wife, his heart and his soul, to his children, his love and values, to those who knew him, his friendship.
In 1994, Jack retired from the Cascade Woolen Mill. During retirement and throughout his life, he vacationed with his wife in New England and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling.
He had many friends, most who have passed before him, who shared his hobbies and his friendship. One of which was Percy Peters who was always there to share a laugh, tell stories and hunting/fishing adventures.
Jack is predeceased by his father and mother, Malhon and Edna White of Oakland, and brothers Bob and Albert of Waterville, Maine and Wheeling, West Virginia.
Jack left us with his love, his friendship, his smile and many memories.
He always told his family he loved them.... So good night Jack, father, husband and friend, we will always love you and miss you.
Jack is survived by his wife Beverly, his children Clyde and Linda, daughter-in-law, Rachael, son-in law, Rick; two sisters Doris Cummings and Shirley Kelly and her husband, Alfred, a sister-in-law Mabel Nicholas and her husband, Bob.
A private grave site memorial at Lewis Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast, Maine.
Our special thanks to Augusta Center for Health and Rehabilitation, whose staff provided their loving care.
