Jeffrey Paul McLaughlin, 56, Springfield, passed away on August 5, 2017, with his loving family by his side. A well respected, hardworking man, Jeff is survived by his bride of 37 years, Lynn (Sawtelle) McLaughlin, his daughters and their husbands, Amy and Gary Renaud, Jill and Matt Grass, Laci and Benjamin Damon, and his cherished grandson, Max. He is also survived by his mother, Inez McLaughlin, sisters Donna and husband Phil, her sons Joe and Kyle, Greta and husband David and their daughters Crystal and Kim, brother David and wife Debbie, and his sons Erik and Seth; his parents-in-law, Hazen and Jean Sawtelle, sister-in-law Valerie and husband Glenn, their children, Jason and wife Kerri, and Alyssa, brother-in-law Bub and wife Lorraine, and their children Dustin and Kaylie. He leaves behind great nieces and nephews and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Robert McLaughlin and his best friend, Thomas Braley. Jeff’s favorite place to be was at camp surrounded by his family and closest friends, Dickie, TJ, and many others. He was never happier than when his family was around, whether it was at a holiday gathering, spring fishing in his boat, a summer weekend playing horseshoes, or riding around heater hunting in the fall. Jeff had a special place in his heart for all who came into his life as strangers and left as friends. He accumulated many extra children over the years who came to think of him as family. Whether they thought of him as a second dad or Uncle Jeff, all the youth who came to know him, loved him. Jeff will be remembered for the love and dedication that he had for his family. He would do anything for his girls. Jeff was a dedicated employee of T Raymond Forest Products in Lee for 20 plus years. His family would like to say thank you to the entire staff at PVH for the kindness and compassion that was shown during his time there. There will be a gathering to celebrate Jeff’s life at the family camp on Lower Dobsis Lake in Lakeville on Saturday, August, 12th at 2 pm.
