Obituary of Steven G. Cooley
Steven Gene Cooley, youngest son of Percy Cooley and Annie York born November 13, 1962 in Skowhegan, took his last breath on July 20th, 2017 surrounded by close family. He attended Solon School and graduated from Carrabec High School in 1981, where he enjoyed playing sports and music including his first band Bekuz.
He then served six years in the National Guard. He worked at Solon Mfg and Anson Stick. For several years he worked in homes working with the mentally challenged.
Over the years he played in several bands (Last Call, 4fifti5 just to name a few) playing the guitar and singing, touching many people with his music. He played the tuba in the school band. Whenever he would bring it home to practice it always amused his Mom to watch him get the tuba off the bus, as the tuba was bigger then he was.
Steve was predeceased by his father Percy W. Cooley, stepfather Colby A.York, and brother Brian Cooley.
He is survived by his two daughters; Nicole Lindblom and husband Robert of Solon, Sara Pike and husband Gordon of North Anson. Two grandchildren Bobby and Summer Lindblom. Mother Annie York of Solon, Sister Linda Cooley of Clinton, Brother Greg and wife Lori of Solon. Sister in Law Jen Cooley of Skowhegan, Niece Keri Davis and Nephew Trevor Cooley. Including very special friends Scott Laweryson and Lisa Benedetti.
Special thanks to his Assistance Plus workers who worked with him everyday. Special thank you to the CMMC ICU for all the great care and sometimes much needed comic relief.
Thank you to Trevor Cooley and Lisa Benedetti for being there and visiting as often as you could.
Private graveside services for family will be held at a later date.
