Obituary of Charlotte Anne Simpson
Charlotte Anne Simpson, 74, passed away on June 1, 2017 at home in Wells, Maine after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 25, 1942 in Bristol, CT to the late Fred Simpson and Ceil Perry Simpson, both originally from Maine.
Charlotte graduated from Bristol High School in 1960. She lived in Washington DC where she worked as a Personal Administrative Assistant to Attorney and retired Air Force Reserve Major General Jess Larson. She also owned a seasonal toy store, “Charlotte’s Toy Emporium” in Bar Harbor, ME.
She then lived in Monterey, MA and worked in Pittsfield, MA for the law firm of Cain, Hibbard & Myers. She was very active in the rescue of Greyhounds and a volunteer for the Great Barrington Symphony. She lived in Kennebunk and Wells, ME the last 20 years and worked at York County Coast Star and Sea Mist Resort.
Charlotte was a lover of all animals and had several pets throughout her life.
Charlotte was predeceased by her fiance’ Peter Levinson, formerly of Washington, DC and her niece/god-daughter Maureen Forrest, formerly of Bridgeport, CT. She is survived by her sister, Faye of Kittery, ME, her brother John of CT, niece Jill and her children Wolfgang and Heather of CT, nephew Shawn of NY, nephew Shane and daughter Katie of CT; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends who will miss her dearly.
