Obituary of Duane B. Wardwell

Duane Wardwell, 72, of Orland died June 2, 2017 with his wife and three children by his side. Duane was a member of the 20th Maine Civil War reenactors, ran a backhoe for Wardwell Construction, worked for Babe Williams, and in his retirement worked at Penobscot Narrows Observatory. He is survived by his wife Judy of nearly 52 years, children Jessica and her husband John Ladd, Duane "DB" and his wife Debbie Wardwell, Natasha and her husband Andy Breda; grandchildren Jan, Nichole, Joseph and his fiancee Hope King, Katie and her friend Matt, Braylee and Nickolas; great-grandchildren Colin, Natalie, Brody, Brandon; and his special poodle Miss Daisy. He is also survived by his brother Raymond and sisters Gail and Elizabeth Wight. Thanks to EMMC staff, Dr. Duvefelt and staff at Bucksport Regional Health Center, caregivers, neighbor Bill, family, friends, coworkers, and special thanks to Gene and Joey, and to his favorite nephew.
