Obituary of George A. LaPlante

Scarborough: George A. LaPlante, 67, passed away April 27, 2017 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. George was born in Gorham, Maine on October 9, 1949 to Shirley Ramsdell LaPlante and George Arthur LaPlante Sr. George spent his life as a papermaker, father, brother, husband and friend to a multitude of people. His love for animals was a large part of his life. George’s kind heart showed brightly throughout his brief stay here on earth. George’s purpose in life was to help and make people happy which he was very successful at. His warmth and kindness will be truly missed. George is survived by his son Michael John LaPlante, his sister, Laura Greenwald and her husband Richard, his brother Thomas Walsh and his wife Alane. George is also survived by his grandson Dylan LaPlante, his niece Kimberly Kelly, his great niece Adrianna Kelly and his lifetime companion, Rachel Lampron LaPlante. George also leaves behind his fur babies, Drakey, Booberry and Smudge. He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley, his father George and three brothers, Steven, Fredrick and Dana.
