Obituary of John S. Hale

John S. Hale Sr. Millinocket- John S Hale Sr., 90 died at a local hospital March 7, 2017. He was born September 17, 1926, son of Albert and Vera (Stewart) Hale. John enlisted in the U.S. Army with the 11th Airborne and served stateside and in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 20, 1946. John came home to East Millinocket and learned the plumbing and heating trade from his father Albert and ran his own successful business for over 50 years. Mr. Hale married Patricia Whirty on June 12, 1948. He is survived by his wife Patricia Hale; two sons, John S. Hale Jr., of Glenburn and Robert Hale of Brunswick; a daughter Barbara and her husband Joseph Jamieson of Millinocket; grandchildren, Brett Hale, Casey Hale, Josh Hale, Lisa Miller, Tori Lapoint, Travis Hale and Brittany Robert; great grandchildren, Kaylee Malone, Alexis Miller, Caleb Miller, Lucas Hale, Kameron Hale, Khaleb Hale, Mason Hale, Lillian Hale and Noah Robert. John was predeceased by his parents; his brothers Everett and Keith Hale and Frank Alley; his grandson BJ Hale and a special niece Joyce Mclain. An 11:00 AM memorial service will be held at on Saturday at the Zion Pentecostal Church, 249 Medway Rd., Mattawamkeag.
