Obituary of Stephen B Rainsford

Stephen Bigelow Rainsford, 76, of Bowerbank, passed away December 11, 2016 in North Berwick. Stephen was born in Bangor on November 4, 1940 to William T. and Mary Elizabeth (Bigelow) Rainsford. He graduated from Deering High School in 1959 and the University of Maine Portland in 1964. After working for Pillsbury Company for 10 years, Stephen went into business for himself and ran Rainsford Builders for 30 years. He was a member of Masons (Deering Lodge), Woodfords Club and their bowling team. Stephen ran 15 marathons and enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, and antiquing. He even wrote a book in 2007 “Around Dover-Foxcroft” which is a part of the Images of America series. Stephen was predeceased by his parents and two sons, Christopher C. Rainsford and William T. Rainsford II. He leaves behind is beloved wife of 53 years, Ellen Carver; sons Shawn Phillip and Stephen Marc Rainsford; grandchildren Jaclyn, Rosalee, Nicholas, Ryan, Luke and Samuel Rainsford; brother Richard Rainsford and his wife Rosemary; sister-in-law Jane Burkhart and husband Dennis; and several nieces and nephews.
