Obituary of Glenn R Whitten

MANCHESTER - Glenn R. Whitten, 66, of Manchester, passed peacefully Dec. 2, 2016, with his loving family by his side. He was born April 8, 1950, the second son of Carroll and Theresa Whitten. Glenn was a very hard worker, having only three jobs spanning almost 50 years: starting at Sears while still in high school, Hallowell Shoe, and then retiring from NRF with over 20 years. One of his proudest accomplishments was never missing a day of school, from kindergarten to graduation. He is survived by his sons, Christopher and Kyle, and their families; his father, Carroll Whitten; and siblings, Carroll; Keith and wife Sharon; Craig and companion Karan; Kevin; Brett and wife Shannon, all of Manchester; and Wayne, of Killeen, Texas, and fiancee Rondi; sisters, Sherry Flagg and husband Bryan, of Gardiner; Sandra Carey; and Carla Furrow and husband Keith, of Manchester; seven grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Glenn was predeceased by his mother, Theresa; a sister-in-law, Dianne; and a brother-in-law, Bruce. A memorial service will be held Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Manchester Lions Club.
