Obituary of Elizabeth Markle

Elizabeth “Betty” F Mayr Markle, 87, entered into eternal life on October 27, 2016 in Houlton Maine. She was the last remaining of 9 children born to Otto Mayr & Elizabeth Ayers in Kingston, NY on July 19, 1929. Betty was married to Richard B Markle Sr. on July 3, 1955 for 31½ years before he entered into eternal life on February 16, 1987. Betty had an abiding faith in God and was known for her innocent and beautiful smile. She was loving and thoughtful of family and friends and had a wry sense of humor, even telling jokes up to her passing. Betty worked as a seamstress for local dress factories for most of her life. She was always the first to arrive and last to leave. She was a member of Walden Fire Department, Enterprise Steamer Ladies Auxiliary during the time she lived in Walden NY. Betty’s spirit will be carried on by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family relations from every walk of life. She always made sure that a card was sent to her children, their spouses and grandchildren for their birthday or anniversary and was known to sign her whole name. Just so that they knew it was from her. Her children are Richard B Markle Jr. & wife Mary Ann Dillon Markle; Ocala FL, Wayne D. Markle, Kelvin Fisher; Middletown, NY, and Ann M Napoli & husband David S. Napoli; Danforth ME. David preceded Betty into enteral life November 4, 2013. Her grandchildren are Jacob & Lynette Markle, David O Napoli, Alexandria & John Hershel, Jonathon & Melissa Napoli, Andrew & Katherine Napoli and Erika Napoli. Betty also has 16 great grandchildren, as well 30 nieces and nephews throughout the country. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the American Heart Association. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden, NY.
