Obituary of Chester Robinson
Chester (Chet) Wayne Robinson passed away at Central Maine Medical Center August 26, 2016 after a long illness.
He was born December 27, 1947 in Halls Quarry to Ira and Helen (Conary) Robinson. He worked at the Camden Tannery for 35 years until his retirement due to ill health. As a young man he worked at the Thorndike Hotel in Rockland. While there he would listen to Dick Curless and his brother Hap Robinson perform. This started his love of music that he shared with his nephew, Tim. Chet was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and was often heard saying, “How ‘bout those Red Sox?” He shared this passion with his son, Keith, as well as his grandsons. He also had a love of fishing and had both salt and fresh water fish tanks on display in his home. In 1983 he married the love of his life, Barbara. They shared 33 wonderful years together.
He was preceded in death by both parents, brother Harvey (Hap) Robinson, niece Sheila Whittier, sister-in-law Roberta Fuller, as well as brothers-in-law Roy and Robert Richards.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of St. George, his son Keith Robinson and wife Sue of Cushing, daughters Angela Robinson and husband Tim of Friendship, Crystal Rush of Waldoboro, and son Bill Bachelder of Friendship. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Corey, Destiny, Ron, Savannah, Scotty and wife Lena, Charise, April and husband Kiel, Lacie, Jolea and husband Dana, Julia, Eric Jr., Evan, and great-grandchildren: Emma, Indy, Rosie, Kaycee, Shawn, Alexa, Kiel Jr., and Wyatt. Also, sisters Georgia Ward and Donna Boynton, brothers-in-law Victor Richards and wife Mary, and Glenn Fuller, as well as nephew Josh Drinkwater, who Chet helped raise.
At Chet’s request there will be no services.
