Obituary of Sharon M Holt
Sharon Marie Holt, 54, passed away peacefully on Jan. 27 at the Sussman House in Rockport. Sharon was born on May 20, 1961 in Skowhegan to Jesse Lincoln and Eloise Beverly Holt.
Sharon grew up in Vassalboro and later lived in Winthrop and Gardiner before moving to Damariscotta in 1995. Sharon was a member of Mobius Inc. Community Center for over 20 years. She was a strong self advocate and had participated in the Speaking Up For Us group. Sharon was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Newcastle.
Sharon had a lifelong love of horses, enjoyed horseback riding and participated in Special Olympics Equestrian Events for several years. She loved all animals and cared for several pets over the years.
Sharon is survived by sisters, Arlene Holt of Rockland, Joanne Holt of Madison, Theresa Holt of Presque Isle, and Patty Marshall of Winthrop; brother, Eugene Holt of Winthrop; her chosen family, Laura, Jericho and Marshall Sanborn, and Cathy Gilbert with whom she spent the last 11 years in Waldoboro; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Kathy Cooper and Emma Stephenson; as well as her many friends at Mobius Inc.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wed., Feb. 3 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 380 Academy Hill Rd., Newcastle.
