Obituary of Vanessa F Field

Vanessa Frances (Pierpont) Field, born June 7, 1962, passed away April 26th. She was born at Augusta General Hospital. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 1983 with a degree in education and joined the Maine Army National Guard in 1986 where she rose to the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring in 2005. She is predeceased by her mother, Geraldine Pierpont; her brother, Royal Pierpont; her brother-in-law Fred Carter; and her niece Sarah Thompson. Vanessa is survived by her wife, Paula Linscott; her daughter, Briana Field; close friend, Dennis Field; her siblings Rebecca Carter and Charles Pierpont; her siblings-in-law Lena, Linda, Vera, Gerry, Clavin; Brent, JoAnne, Cecil, Annie; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. Vanessa knew what mattered in life: people. She was always willing to lend a hand to family, friends, co-workers, and the more-than-occasional stranger. She enjoyed sunny weather, stick dogs, butterflies, and admiring the water from a safe distance. A memorial gathering will be held at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast on Tuesday, May 10th from 6-8pm. Military honors will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery, Route 32, Windsor on Wednesday, May 11th at 2pm.
