Obituary of Rebecca R Lothrop
Rebecca R. Lothrop, 91, died April 27, 2016, at home with her daughters Peggy and Patty by her side. She was born April 13 1925, in St. Albans, the daughter of William and Dora Rediker. She graduated from Crosby High School in 1943 and from the first graduating class of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. Becky worked side by side with her husband Roger, who fondly referred to her as “Honeypoop”, operating Lothrop Ford in Belfast. Becky was a longtime member of the Belfast Curling Club and Northport Golf Club which she was always proud to share the fact she’d made two holes-in-one with her grandchildren and son-in-law’s. She was also an active member of the Waldo County Hospital aid.
The most important thing to Becky was her family. She couldn’t wait to see her daughters, son-in-law’s, and grandchildren. She enjoyed family gatherings when she would cook a big meal for everyone. One of Becky’s favorite times of the year was Christmas Eve when she opened her home to family and friends to celebrate the holiday season with all the people she cherished and loved.
She was predeceased by her husband Roger who she fondly referred to as “Teeball” her oldest daughter Pamela, five brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her two daughters Peggy and her husband Francis Bronsberg and Patricia and her husband Timothy Clark. Six grandchildren, Roger Marx and his wife Cathy, Richard Marx, Jr. and his wife Heather, Teryn Traynham and her husband Ryan, Kristy Scullion and her husband David, Brandon Clark and his wife Lindsey, Danielle Clark and also several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Maine General Hospice out of Gardiner, with a special thanks to Dr. Dohner, Stephanie Berry, her nurse, Julie Cloutier, her aid, and Bill Meyer, her hospice Chaplin, for the amazing support and care they provide our family and Becky.
