Obituary of Robert M Gray

CAMDEN - Robert Gray, 83, passed away at Pen-Bay Hospital on May 23, of heart failure. Born in Camden on Aug. 31, 1932, he was the son of Gwynne M. and Elfreda (Nelson) Gray. Bob served in the Army during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Germany. He worked as a Teamster (Local 25) in Boston for many years. He suffered a debilitating heart attack in the mid 1970s, moved back to his hometown of Camden, and never returned to work. Bob enjoyed watching Westerns, hunting, fishing and playing poker and cribbage. He loved taking pictures of nature, which he almost always did with his son. He gladly shared his photos with others - especially his friends at Merry Gardens, where he had lived for the past five years. Bob is survived by his sister, Estelle ( Patty ) Pendleton, of Lincolnville and his half-brother, Terry Gray, of Skowhegan. Also, his 3 children: Tammy Lopenzo, of Boston, James M. Gray of Camden, and Lisa M. Gray of Fort Lauderdale, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Pen-Bay Medical Center, KnoWalLin, and the residents and staff of Merry Gardens for all their kindness, professionalism and courtesy extended to Bob during his prolonged illness. Due to his wishes, there will not be a funeral service. Cards of sympathy may be sent to: James Gray 94 Washington St Camden, ME 04843.
