Obituary of Kenneth Edward Campbell
Kenneth E. Campbell, 77, of Warren, passed away on July 12, 2016. Ken was born in Woolwich, Maine and lived in various locations throughout the state during his childhood.
He married Joyce A. Kinney on August 29, 1960 and built their home in Warren shortly after.
Ken taught himself many of the things he was most known for including carpentry, masonry and playing steel guitar. Ken built many houses throughout the midcoast area and beyond during the years he was a carpenter. If he was told it couldn't be done, he'd find a way to prove you wrong. In his prime, he was a man who could build or fix just about anything. He enjoyed playing steel guitar and dedicated many hours to teaching himself to play, and learning the songs he played with the Lincoln County Express and other country bands over the years. He also enjoyed the company of his many pets as well as watching deer on his property. Many will remember him for his blue eyes, smiles, laughter, and pranks.
Ken is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Joyce K. Campbell, and three daughters, Karen Harris and her husband Michael Harris of Warren; daughter, Kelly Campbell of Warren; daughter Kendra Hilt and her husband Michael Hilt of Warren; grandchildren Travis Campbell of Union; Troy Weaver and his partner Stephanie Dodge of Warren; Andrew Harris and his wife Allison of Hope; Hannah Campbell and her partner Fred Wigglesworth of Warren; Krista Campbell and her partner Jonathan Sorge of New Jersey; Abigail Hilt of Warren; Joseph Hilt and his partner Nikki Hayes of Rockland; great-grandchildren Aimee Barnstein, Zachary Campbell, Olivia Campbell, Damian Weaver, Chase Weaver, Alexis Weaver, Connor Harris and Gemma Harris; two great-great grandsons Kaidyn and Karter Bertrand; brothers Percy Campbell of Florida and Joseph Campbell of Texas.
He was predeceased by his parents Olive Gerrish and Elwood Campbell; six siblings
Kathleen Yattaw; Ruth Withee; Alice Partridge; George Maker, Linwood Campbell and Frank Maker.
No services will be held out of respect for his final wishes. Let it be known he will be missed dearly by his family.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to an animal shelter of your choice or the Alzheimer's Association - Maine Chapter, 383 US Route One, Suite 2C
