Obituary of Edward Hanson

Edward Hanson age 96 passed away on December 10, 2023, at home. He was born in Lackawanna New York to William and Lenora Hanson. He went into the Navy as soon as he was old enough to serve in WW2.  When he got out of the Navy he and his wife Geraldine Gallant Hanson made their home in North Yarmouth where he lived for 77 years. He worked at Crosby in Portland for 37 years until they closed. He went to work at Brunswick Naval Air Station until he retired. He enjoyed plowing his yard. Even things that weren't meant to be plowed like a power pole, swimming pool, and anything else that got in his way. He liked to be outside mowing his lawn and fishing. He is predeceased by the love of his life Geraldine whom he was married to for 71 years. Also predeceased by 3 sons, Richard, Robert, and Jeffrey. He is survived by daughters Linda Lazott and her husband Russ and Cindy Brewington. Daughter-in-law Nancy Hanson has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank his friends who were always there for him. Tom Williams, Cathleen Kelly,  Debbie Grover, Paul Hodgetts and Mark Small. Burial will be in the spring.
