Dorothy May Graffam, 83, of Bath, Maine, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026. She was born on April 6, 1943, to the late Ruby May Thompson and George Frederick Thompson.

Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her son, Robert G. Graffam.

She is survived by her children: Irene Holman and her husband, Peter Holman, of Brunswick, Maine; Cindy Pinkham of Bath, Maine; Wanda Johns and her husband, Andy Johns, of Woolwich, Maine; Heidi Hogan of Bath, Maine; and Michael Graffam of Bath, Maine.

Dorothy is also survived by her siblings: Stanley Thompson and his wife, Eva; Mary Holman; Richard Thompson and his wife, Barbara; Danny Thompson and his wife, Darlene; Brenda Wilbur and her husband, Steve; Theresa Smith; Patty Hess and her husband, Brian; Debbie Jackson and her husband, Brian; and George Thompson and his wife, Bonnie.

She leaves behind many cherished grandchildren: Katie Holman, Peter Holman Jr., Mark Graffam, Nick Graffam, Nathan Graffam, Matthew Donovan, Christopher Graffam, John Byrd, Steven Byrd, Dylan Johns, Danny Johns, Dakota Hogan, Skye Hogan, and Savannah McKinney, along with many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Throughout her life, Dorothy held many jobs, with her last employment being at Burger King. No matter where she worked, she was known for her kindness, strong work ethic, and caring nature.

Dorothy had a special love for horses and enjoyed collecting horse figurines and decorations. She loved shopping, looked forward to spending holidays surrounded by her family, and enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel. One of her favorite traditions was handing out Halloween candy to trick-or-treaters, a reflection of the generous heart she shared with everyone around her.

Dorothy will be remembered for her love of family, her warm spirit, and the kindness she showed to others. She had a big heart and touched the lives of many people who were blessed to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
