Theresa L. Nye, of Temple, Maine, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on June 21, 2026. She was born Theresa L. Sullivan, the daughter of the late Charles H. Sullivan and the late Mary Madeline (Davis) Sullivan.

Theresa was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Her family moved to West Dennis where she graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School class of 1972. She spent her formative years on Cape Cod before eventually relocating to Maine, where she remained a longtime resident of the Temple area.

Theresa is survived by her sister, Mim. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard “Dick” Sullivan, and her sister, Denise (Sullivan) McGrail, her step-daughter Deihlia, and her husband Robert “Linc” Nye. 

She leaves behind a large family, including her children: James Perry and life long partner Chris Fanning, Jessica (Perry)Krupp, Jolene Nye, Jody James and husband Marc, Ruth L. Nye, and her step-daughter Chelsea Nye. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Robert, Tyler, Coral, Jamison, Emma, Aidan, Charlie, Parker, Jakobi, Amelia, Baylee and Grayson. As well as numerous nieces and nephews who she also held close to her heart. 

Service Information:

A celebration of life will be held at the Farmington Elks Lodge at 120 School St. in Farmington, MEon July 18, 2026 at 2pm. Everyone who felt her love at one point is welcome to join and share stories. 

In lieu of flowers, we would like to request you make a donation to your favorite animal rescue or shelter in her honor. She loved animals, and would love to see your love and gratitude directed to those in need.
