Thomas Cahill Obituary

Thomas Lawrence Cahill, III (TC or Tom,) 60, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026,

at the Sussman House in hospice care in Rockport, Maine after battling esophageal and other

cancers.

TC, as he was known to family and friends, was born on May 20, 1966, in Boston, MA at St.

Margaret’s Hospital - the hospital where mothers went to have boys, as his four older sisters

were told by his beloved parents, Anne Elizabeth (Sullivan) and Thomas Lawrence Cahill, Jr.

From that day forward, TC was treated as the king and loved to tell the story, even to the

amazing caretakers throughout his cancer treatment.

TC was known for his love of family and close friends first and foremost. He gained strength

from being surrounded by those he loved and loved a big Cahill/Sullivan family gathering, that

was a regular occurrence in his youth. Later years were spent all together around the family

pool sharing lots of fun and his famous cannon balls and cooked to perfection steaks.

His strong work ethic, determination and willingness to help others were traits inherited from

his parents that helped him through so many health battles that would have knocked most

people down. He touched the lives of so many through his kindness, humor and steadfast

loyalty to family and friends.

TC is survived by his beloved children, Chelsea Cahill, Jaydn Cahill and Thomas Cahill. He is

also survived by his dearly loved siblings Patricia Ellis, Shelly (Matt) Smith, Suzanne (Mike)

Scofield), Beth (Brian) Smith and Richard Cahill along with many loving nieces, nephews,

cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his parents Anne and Tommy Cahill and

his precious nephew, Ryan Scofield.

He leaves his partner, Cheryl Davis, with whom he shared many happy times camping and

living in Maine the past few years.

TC shared an almost 50-year friendship with his best friend, Allan Tracy. Through thick and

thin, they have remained friends and stood by each other’s side sharing life’s toughest and best

moments.

Tom will be remembered for his strength, courage, resilience and devotion to those he loved.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

We would like to thank the Sussman House and of the wonderful people there including

Chaplain James, who made TC’s last days as peaceful and comfortable as possible. You have

our unending gratitude.

According to TC’s wishes, the family will have a celebration of life on Thursday, June 18, 2026,

at Cavern Sports Bar and Grill, 351 Pembroke St., Pembroke, NH 03275 from 3 pm to 7 pm.

Please join us as we share memories and stories and support one another.

Memories and condolences may be shared with his family on his tribute wall.
