Milton Clark Obituary

Milton Clark, aged 94, passed away on April 16, 2026, at his home in Ashland, Maine,

surrounded by his loving family and friends. Milton was born in Ashland on August 21,

1931, the son of the late Joseph and Ida (Cloukey) Clark.

Milton enlisted in the United States Army in April 1951, completed his basic training at

Fort Hood, Texas, and, after mechanic training, served as a tanker mechanic in Korea

from October 1952 to September 1953, leaving the Army with the rank of sergeant. He

was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and was deeply involved

with the Ashland Advent Christian Church, where he served faithfully as a member,

trustee, and deacon for many years.


Milton loved his life as a trucker and was the driving force behind several family

businesses, including M. Clark & Sons, MTK INC, and Clark Family LLC.The shop was

more than just a workplace; it was a gathering spot where visitors would drop by for

coffee and conversation. Family was a very important part of Milton’s life and he looked

forward to every summer when everyone was able to spend time together at the lake

house.


Milton is survived by his beloved wife of seventy years, Dawn Howes Clark. He leaves

behind his children: Guy Clark (Kay) of Ashland, ME; Tony Clark (Shelley) of Garfield

Plantation, ME; and Kathy Washington (Walt) of Collierville, TN. He was a proud

grandfather to Jessica Craig, Jasmine Weissman (Billy), Kendell Clark (Amanda),

Heather Clark, Vanessa Clark, Sam Washington and Alicia Washington (Corey

Galbraith). Milton was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Jacob Clark (Olivia),

Joshua Clark, Carter and Millie Craig, Ella Clark, and Charlotte and Lilly Clark. He is

also survived by his brother Marvin Clark, and sisters Patricia Robinson and Peggy

Burby Starkey and sister-in-law Laura (Howes) Bouchard along with several nieces and

nephews.


Milton was predeceased by his special grandson, Joseph Guy Clark; his sisters, Janet

Gagnon, Jacqueline Crabb, and Doris Clark; and his brother, Edward Clark.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please donate to the Aroostook House of

Comfort or the Ashland Advent Christian Church.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Ashland Advent Christian Church at 11am

on June 27 th , 2026.
