William P. Weymouth, 88, of Augusta, Maine, died on April 15, 2026. Our hearts broke on April 15th, 2026 when we learned that our beloved Dad and Grampy Bill had passed away. He sat in his recliner chair to take his afternoon nap, and never woke up. 

Bill was born in Augusta on July 9th, 1937 to Ferdinand (Buster) and Julia Weymouth.  He was a 1957 graduate of Cony High School. His lifetime of hard work began before he left his parents’ home. He started as an industrious paper boy for the Kennebec Journal. He then launched his own landscaping business, Bill's Landscaping, which eventually became Weymouth’s Landscape Service. On September 23rd, 1969, he was appointed as the Superintendent of cemeteries and parks in Augusta. In 1964 he began 21 years of dedicated service at the Hartford Fire Station in Augusta. After retiring from the fire department in 1985, he worked for First Student bus service until he finally retired at the age of 79.  

Bill's family was everything to him. He cherished the time that he had with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  

Many summers were spent in Vanceboro at his wife Linda's family's camp. He treasured that time with Linda, Mark, Melissa, Kimberly, Samantha, and Danielle.  He loved Linda's family and was grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of their lives. 

There are so many special memories, such as all of the afternoon visits that Grampy Bill made to see Matt and Lindsay. He loved attending his great grandson Collins football games. He was so grateful for his granddaughter Melissa and how she included him in all their holiday gatherings. 

Bill was also thrilled with arrival of his great, great granddaughter Willow, Will and Corin’s daughter. He deeply appreciated his grandson Matt's living with him these last two years of his life. His eldest grandsons Chuck, Brandon Ronnie and Alex always had a special place in his heart too. Bill is survived by his brother James (Janet) Weymouth. His sons Ronald (Vicky), Mark (Melissa), and Daniel. Daughters Sheila Royer, and Lisa (Ricky) Martin. Grandchildren Chuck Weymouth Brandon Weymouth, Alexander Amaral, Melissa Koval, Ronnie Weymouth, Kimberly Bell, Samantha Weymouth, Danielle Weymouth, Matthew Martin, Lindsay Martin. Great grandchildren Jacob Weymouth, Joshua Weymouth, Liam Weymouth, Collin Foye, William Ahearn, Ronnie Weymouth, Bowie Rose Weymouth.  Great great grandchildren Willow Ahearn, and the newborn twins Juniper and Bluebell Ahearn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Linda J. Weymouth, his brother Robert Weymouth, and his sister Judy Petrowski. 

Our family would like to thank Family Focused Healthcare, Maine General Homecare and Hospice, and Maine Health Cardiology for their care and compassion. At Bill's request, there will be no service.
