Obituary for Richard "Dick" Allen Walsh 


Richard "Dick" Allen Walsh, 74, of Canton, Maine, passed away on April 14, 2026, at the Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, Maine, surrounded by love and peace. He was born on January 29, 1952, in Portland, Maine, to Kenneth and Eloise Walsh. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, pastor, educator, coach, and servant of God whose life reflected his deep and unwavering faith.


He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie Walsh. Children He is survived by his children, Timothy Walsh and his wife Myriah, and Melissa Bean and her husband Paul. Grandchildren He is survived by his beloved grandchildren Breaunna Domina, Kendra Domina, Julian Baldinelli, and Jason Baldinelli, as well as five beautiful great-grandchildren. Siblings He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Walsh and Eloise Walsh; his stepmother Winna Mae Walsh; his brothers William Borens, Kenneth Walsh Jr., and Jack Walsh Sr.; and his sisters Shirley Walsh and Tammy Walsh. He is survived by his brothers Michael Walsh and his wife Karen, Donald Walsh and his wife Donna, and Jeffrey Walsh and his wife Peggy; and his sister Sherry Veneman and her husband Steven. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.


Richard dedicated his life to ministry, serving as Pastor of The Green Mountain Church of God in West Berkshire, Vermont, and Assistant Pastor of The Auburn Church of God in Auburn, Maine. He also served as clergy in several other churches throughout his life, faithfully sharing his love for the Lord wherever he went. Beyond the pulpit, Richard impacted countless young lives as a paraeducator and coach at Richford Junior/Senior High School in Richford, Vermont. He was also a dedicated volunteer, serving on the Richford Ambulance Service in Vermont and as a volunteer firefighter in multiple communities over the years. Richard was a passionate sports fan, especially devoted to his beloved New England teams and local high school athletics. Above all, he was his grandchildren's greatest supporter, never missing their events and cheering them on proudly. He cherished time with his family and was known for his deep love, kindness, and unwavering faith. He was an active member of Victory Christian Church in Livermore, Maine, where he continued to serve and worship faithfully. Richard will be remembered as a kind, loving man of strong faith who was always ready to help others. His joy in the Lord was contagious, often expressing his excitement with the words: "That's enough to make a wooden monkey shout!"


A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Victory Christian Church in Livermore, Maine, followed by a reception downstairs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Andwell Hospice House. Memories and condolences may be shared with his family on his tribute wall.
