Paula Dubé Obituary
Houlton, Maine – Paula Mae (Bell) Dube 66, died unexpectedly with all her family surrounding her at Houlton Regional Hospital.
She was born February 5, 1960, in Bristol Connecticut.
Paula was the daughter of Alfred Merlin Bell and Betty Lou P. O’Neal Bell (Kathan).
She was predeceased by her father, Alfred. Mother Betty Lou. Stepfather Arthur Kathan. Aunt Lorraine Orr. Uncle Bert O’Neal. Nephew Christopher Orr.
Paula had many passions and jobs throughout her lifetime.
She loved to sew making quilts, potholders, washcloths, and so on. If she could think it up, she could make a pattern to make and sew it. Every piece she made and sewed was one-of-a-kind, made and stitched together with love and hard work. She was always passionate about giving or making someone’s day or life a bit brighter, and she did just that with the many projects she completed and handed out to those she loved and cared so very much about. Most of her projects were quilts of (all sizes) as she never wanted anyone to be cold.
A lot of hard work and dedication went into each piece of measurement, cutting, pinning, and sewing.
She loved horses. She grew up on her family farm learning to ride, love and care at a young age, to help in tending to the ponies and horses her family had.
She owned many horses throughout her life. One mare was near and dear to her heart the most. They formed a special bond where they saddled up riding through many trails, pastures and parades throughout the county.
She enjoyed the car shows. She attended many with the love of her life and husband Kenny, with their prized possessions on the unique cars or trucks they had. Together, they made many memories traveling to attend many throughout the county, bringing home many trophies. The trophy she would always make the impression on, and was most proud of, was, in the making of those memories.
Paula was Mrs. Aroostook County International in 2001. She traveled, competed and put herself out there in making many friends and memories along the way, throughout her journey within that title.
She truly enjoyed the quality time spent riding on the back of the motorcycle with nothing but the open road and the wind blowing through her beautiful blonde hair, while hanging on tight to her honey – the love of her life of 47 years, her husband Kenny.
She loved country music (she was a proud Reba fan). She would always be in the mood for singing, or dancing, no matter where she was. She enjoyed shopping, playing cribbage, or playing card games with her family and friends. She enjoyed each holiday that she had to spend with her family and friends. She’d be the 1st to go above and beyond in cooking, making sure there were plenty enough leftovers for everyone.
She enjoyed spending time with her best friend of 26 years, Laura Boynton. You could always see them going with smiles on their faces, on adventures wherever their hearts desired.
Paula held jobs throughout her the years as a roller operator, and as a cashier, for local companies in Aroostook County.
However, no job or passion was more important to her than her dedicated role as a devoted and loving wife to her husband and mother to her children. She loved her husband and children with her whole heart and soul. We were the light in her life, that no matter what any one of us faced, her love and devotion never ever grew dim. There wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for anyone of us. (Little did she know that she was the (GUIDING LIGHT) and (COMPASS) to show us all the way, in all our lives. She’d always remind us (ALL) that she loved us to the moon and back, with a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. Her all-time favorite pass time was time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Paula is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 47 years, Kenny (Lawrence) Dube. Of Houlton, Maine. Daughters Melissa Dube of Caribou Maine. Melinda Dube of Enfield, Maine.
