Kathleen T. Martin, 62, passed away on March 22, 2026, at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta. She was born on April 15, 1963, in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, the daughter of Gordon and Betty McKusick.

Known to many as “Katie,” she spent 22 years working at Maine General Medical Center in Waterville as a Dietary Aide. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who formed lasting friendships with those around her and left a meaningful impact on her coworkers and the community she served.

Katie had a love for baking and took great pride in creating beautiful and delicious cakes, always paying close attention to every detail. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—trips to the ocean, enjoying a good lobster meal, and feeding the neighborhood chipmunks peanuts. Above all else, her greatest joy was being a mother and a nana to her beloved grandchildren.

Katie was a deeply caring woman who would do whatever it took to make her children happy and to shield them from the harder parts of life. She was a devoted Yankees fan and, despite being surrounded by Red Sox fans, always enjoyed talking a little smack. At the end of the day, she was a kind-hearted woman who will be missed by many.

Katie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Sam Martin, and her sister-in-law, Sandy.

She is survived by her children, Jason Golden of Fairfield; Amanda Brunelle of Fairfield; and Justin Golden of Palermo. She is also survived by her brother Frank, and her sister Pam and her husband Jimmy, all of Tennessee; and her cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Abbie, and Annabelle.

A celebration of Katie’s life will be held this spring for family and friends, with a date to be announced.

The love she gave so freely will continue to live on through her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
