Fairfield, Maine - Elverine Marie Vigue went home to be with the Lord on January 26, 2026. She passed at Maine General Hospital in Augusta at the age of 97.

Elverine grew up a "county girl" by the banks of St. John River, just east of Madawaska. She was born on October 24, 1928, to the late Frank and Isabelle (Deschaine) Corbin of Hamlin, Maine. She was one of seven children: Norman, James, Roland, Adelbert, Carol, and Antoinette.

She married her husband Donald A Vigue on June 6,1953 and together they raised their three sons, Richard, Paul, and Rodney, in the town of Fairfield. She resided on King St. for over seven decades and remained living independently throughout.

Elverine was small in stature but had a huge heart to help others. She will be sadly missed by her three sons, daughter-in-law, several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband Donald at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mount Vernon Road in Augusta. Memories and condolences may be shared on her tribute wall.
