James Sanborn Barnes

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Sanborn Barnes, who departed this life on January 2, 2026, at the age of 94. Jim was a beloved husband, stepfather, grandparent, and cherished member of the church community.

Born on November 26, 1931, in Marblehead, Massachusetts, James lived a life filled with love, kindness, and generosity. James touched the lives of many through his work with the ministry and housing displaced. He had a notable life as a Navy veteran and a Pastor with a Master's Degree in Theology.

James is survived by his loving step son Paul M Shellenberger, Daughter In Law Alexandra, Granddaughter Sarah Shellenberger and grandson Chance Shellenberger; and was preceded in death by his wife Roselynde Barnes.
