FAYETTE - Ronald E. LaFlamme, 90, of Fayette, Maine passed away October 3rd, 2025, at Maine Medical Center, Portland, Maine.
He was born in Augusta, Maine on August 20th,1935, the son of Laurent K. LaFlamme and Alexina Couture LaFlamme.
Ron graduated from Cony High School, attended the University of Maine and then served in the US Marine Corp., stationed in Japan, Belgium, and Switzerland
(Atoms for Peace Conference). Ron was employed by the US Postal Service for 31 years prior to his retirement and was a lifetime member of the Calumet Club in
Augusta. While in the Marines, he obtained his black belt in Judo and owned and operated the Augusta Judo Club for many years.
Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved going up to 9 mile in northern Maine with relatives and friends. He loved running his beagles at the Litchfield Beagle Club
where he was a member for many years and loved watching the Boston Red Sox with his mother-in-law, Theresa Spears.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Laurent E. LaFlamme, son Patrick LaFlamme, former wife Nicole LaFlamme, niece Susan Morrill, step mother
Blanche LaFlamme, step sisters Jeannine Roy, Dorothy Morin and Shirley Rodrigue, in-laws Robert and Theresa Spears.
Ron is survived by his spouse of 50 years, Jeanne LaFlamme of Fayette, daughter and son in-law Monique and Dan Howlett of Belgrade, sister in-law Dolores
LaFlamme of Readfield, brothers-in-law Thomas Spears of Fayette and Timothy Spears (Jeannine) of Augusta. He leaves behind several cousins, nieces and
nephews.
The family would like to thank the dedicated 4th floor staff at Maine Medical Center, Malone Family Tower for their attentive care and support.
At Ron’s request, there will be no public visiting hours. A private burial with military honors will be held at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with his family on his tribute wall.
