Amie Christine Milo Obituary

Amie Christine (Lavway) Milo, 50, left this world in September 22 nd 2025 after a brave and stubbornly long 13-year battle with cancer. Born on October 1 st , 1974, she grew up in Washburn, Maine, where she perfected her quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and talent for keeping everyone around her both laughing and thinking a little deeper.

Amie studied opera at the University of Maine in Orono, and though she may not have ended up on the grand stage, she carried music, and a dramatic flair through every chapter of her life.

She had a way of seeing the world through a lens of humor, wonder, and a touch of sass. When life got hard, she turned to astrology, spirituality, and the stars—both to comfort herself and to remind everyone else that there’s always more hope and magic out there if you look for it.

Her proudest role was being “Mom” to her son, Felix, the center of her world. She is also survived by Felix’s father, Kris Milo, and their dog Gladys; his father, Jack Milo; her parents, Joanne and David; her sister, Marci, and her husband, Stephen Wilcox; her niece, Morgan, with her husband, Chris, and their son, Grady; her nephew, Christopher, with his wife, Brooke, and their children, Mason and Audree; and her nephew, Andrew. She also leaves behind a vast circle of extended family and friends who will carry her laughter and stories forward.

Amie was the kind of person who could walk into a room and change the energy—whether by cracking a joke no one expected, offering heartfelt advice, or pulling out a cosmic chart to explain why “of course Mercury was messing with you today.” Her spirit was strong, her humor unstoppable, and her love immeasurable.

A celebration of Amie’s life will be held later, when family and friends can gather to share stories, laughter, and maybe even consult the stars in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Maine Academy of Modern Music, https://www.maineacademyofmodernmusic.org/donate, the Maine Hospice Council https://mainehospicecouncil.org/donate, or simply raising a glass, sharing a laugh, and remembering Amie with love.
