Cody Shane Knox Obituary

Cody Shane Knox, 32, of Windsor, passed away on September 14, 2025, at Maine Medical Center following an unfortunate accident. He was born in Augusta, Maine, on October 17, 1992, to David and Michelle Knox.

Cody grew up in central Maine and attended local schools. It was in high school that he met his soulmate and high school sweetheart, Nicole, whom he married on August 19, 2020. He was self-employed as a roofer for many of his younger years, later discovering a newfound passion for carpentry.

His favorite place to be was Clary Lake in Jefferson, where he enjoyed fishing, boating, and kayaking. Cody also loved spending time with family and friends and tinkering with anything that had a motor. He took great pride in being a devoted husband and father. Nicole and Kaiden were truly his pride and joy—from the day they met, and the moment he laid eyes on Kaiden.

Cody was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Brenda O’Neill; cousins, Joey Knox and Kayla O’Neill; and sister-in-law, Stephanie Knox. He is survived by his wife, Nicole Knox, and son, Kaiden Knox of Windsor; paternal grandmother, Rose Knox of Augusta; parents, David and Michelle Knox of Windsor; parents-in-law, Wayne and Tammy Brann of China; siblings, David Knox Jr. of Windsor, Jesse Knox and wife Lindsey of Augusta, and Brittany Knox of Windsor; siblings-in-law, Kaitlyn Hinckley and partner Joshua Harrington of Jefferson, and Miranda Chapman and husband Seth of Whitefield; aunts and uncles, Denise O’Neill of Vassalboro, Pam and Wayne Rideout of Randolph, Sarah and Ted Rideout of Whitefield, Autumn Swift and husband Brian of Augusta, Norman Knox and wife Terry of Farmingdale, Junior Knox of Pittston, Donny O’Neill of Randolph, Eric O’Neill of Augusta, and Krissy Kenney of Madison; nieces and nephews, Hunter Knox of Augusta, Isaac, Noah, Trevor, and Jacob Kelley of Jefferson, Kaylin, Waylin, and Gibson Maynard of Jefferson, Chloe and Mason Lane; and the many others who lovingly called him “uncle”; nearest and dearest best friend, Dana Dwinal, and wife Bobby Knox of Whitefield, along with far too many cousins and friends to list, also mourn his loss.

A celebration of Cody’s life will be held at a later date to share memories and reminisce about the good times. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

“The measure of a man is not in the years he lived, but in the love he gave. And your love will never leave us.”
