Dale Marie Orne Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of Dale Marie Orne's passing on July 15, 2025, at her home in Friendship. She was peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Dale had been bravely battling cancer since March 2025, and also faced the challenges of Alzheimer's/dementia in recent years.

Born in Rockland, Maine, on August 3, 1956, at Knox Hospital, Dale was the cherished daughter of Janet and Donald Faulkingham. She grew up in Friendship, sharing a close bond with her twin sister and best friend, Dawn, as well as her siblings, Teresa and Lyle. Her childhood was filled with joyful memories created with family and cousins. Dale possessed a vibrant spirit and a remarkable ability to bring laughter to those around her.

As a young woman, Dale worked alongside Dawn at the Port Clyde canning facility in Rockland. Summers were often spent camping with her family in Jonesport, a testament to her dedication to cherished family traditions. At the age of 20, she met the love of her life, Michael Orne, and together they built a life in Friendship, raising their daughters, Marie and Melissa, close to their extended family. Dale was a devoted wife and mother, nurturing her family with unwavering love and care. She fostered strong connections within her family, creating lasting memories through countless hours spent playing volleyball, croquet, and badminton with her siblings, all their children and parents. She and Mike also treasured their social life, enjoying evenings out dancing with friends Janice and Phil at Crystal Falls.

In her later years, Dale found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, showering her grandchildren Chloe, Wesley, Reanna and Isaiah with love and attention. She eagerly awaited babysitting opportunities. Over the past year she cherished the moments spent with her great-granddaughter, Summer. A recent luncheon shared with her cousins, sister, daughters, niece, and grandchildren held particular significance for her.

After Mike fell ill and needed to be cared for at home, she made sure his every need was taken care of until he passed. Showing her devotion and love for him.

Following the passing of her beloved husband, Mike, in November of last year, Dale's daughters and granddaughters provided her with unwavering support and care. Even as Alzheimer's progressed, she continued to enjoy walks and later drives with her sister Dawn and niece Kimmy, and looked forward to her Bible study group with them, her brother Lyle, and nephew Jared.

Dale's infectious laughter, unwavering love for her family, and enduring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and cherished memories.

Dale Orne is survived by her sister Dawn and brother-in-law Norman Benner, brother Lyle Faulkingham; her children, Marie and son-in-law Matthew Turner, and Melissa Orne; her grandchildren , Chloe Winchenbach, Wesley Turner, Reanna Stoutt and Isaiah Orne; her great-granddaughter; Summer Collamore; her nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Benner) Simmons, Mark Millay, Stephanie Millay and  Jared Faulkingham; her great niece and nephew, Dylan Davis and Maddison Greenrose. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Teresa (Faulkingham) Gamage, her nephew Norman Perley Benner Jr, her great nephew Hayden Benner and her great grandson Caden Turner.

There will be a celebration of life sometime in October when her family will all be able to attend.
