Richard A. Burwood, of Oakland, went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2025, at the age of 71.

Richard was born on August 18, 1953, in Skowhegan, the son of Richard C. and Thelma Burwood 'Maxwell'. He spent much of his life working with his hands and providing for others through honest, hard work. His employment included farm work, work at a chicken plant, and driving dump trucks. No matter the job, he took pride in doing it.

He was predeceased by his father. Survived by his mother, Thelma; a very special aunt, Cecile; his sisters: Diane Burwood and her partner, Ricky; Brenda and her husband, Ken Schechter; Jerrilene and her husband, Scott Mullen; and brother, John Burwood, and his partner, Laura.

He is also survived by his children: Rosa Blouin and her wife, Lisa; Clayton Burwood; and Tanya Thibodeau and her husband, Jason C. His grandchildren: Britney, James, Bryce, Amanda and her husband, Lance; Krysta and her husband, Eric; and Jason J. and his wife, Sarah. Great-grandchildren: Damien, Kianna, Dante, Emma, and Jaylyn. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Service with be held at Lewis Cemetery 51 Cottle Road, Oakland on June 14, 2025 at 10:00 am and to follow will be a pot luck at Victor Grange in Fairfield 144 Oakland Road Fairfield
