Patricia W. Latimer Obituary

Patricia (Wall) Latimer, 98, formerly of Rockport, Maine, passed peacefully on May 15, 2025, at Breakwater Commons in Rockland, Maine, after a period of declining health. She graduated from Rockport High School in 1945, married Bradbury Prescott, had one daughter, Pamela, and lived in NH for many years. She eventually moved to Stoughton, MA, with her second husband, Kenneth Latimer, and in 2005, they both retired to Rockport.

Known for her warmth and hospitality, Pat loved hosting family gatherings, cooking for and bringing together friends and family throughout her life. But just below the surface of a traditional wife and mother, beat the heart of an adventurer. She loved to travel the world, including trips to Egypt, China, Mexico, Greece, Europe, and Alaska. She white-water rafted on the Snake River, rode a camel at the Pyramids, para-sailed on Lake George, and went horseback riding in the Alaskan wilderness. Besides travel, her interests included photography and gardening.

Pat greatly eased the last years of her sisters, Hilda and Edith, by caring for them with love. Her generosity of spirit and lifelong commitment to the care of others leaves a legacy of love. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by husband, Kenneth Latimer, sisters, Edith Wall and Hilda Lane, brothers Warren and Benjamin Wall, half-sister, Elizabeth (Bessie) Thurston, half-brother Arthur Wall, and beloved nephews Allan Wall and Larry Wall.

She is survived by daughter, Pamela King and husband Bruce, stepchildren Sharon Mack, Kenneth Latimer Jr., and Mark Latimer, nephew Robert Wall and wife, Ruth, nephew Douglas Wall and wife Janet, nephew John (Jack) Wall, and niece, Jeannette Arbuckle, as well as many cousins, including 101 year old Josephine McAlary, grandnieces and nephews, and special friends Joan Cavanaugh, Margaret Miller, and Joyce Andrews.

Special thanks go to a small circle of family helpers who lovingly cared for Patricia as her health declined – cousin Melissa MacCoole, and Robert and Ruth Wall. Also the family wishes to express deep gratitude to the angels at Maine Health Home Health & Hospice, especially Regina Knight-Ryder, and the caring staff at Breakwater Commons.

At Patricia’s request, there will be no service.
