The man we all loved!
81 year old Harold Maxwell Curtis better known as (Mac) & (Gumpy) Peacefully passed away on 4/21/25 at 10:30PM in Skowhegan Maine were he lived with his wife Sherrie of 62 years.
Mac was born in Millinocket Maine on 11/10/43 the son of the late Harold Curtis SR and Janice Tasker of Millinocket. Mac is a 1962 graduate of Stearns High School in Millinocket. He went on to serve 4 years in the US Navy stationed in Norfolk Virginia on the USS Orion a submarine tender. When he got out of the service he moved back to Millinocket with his wife Sherrie and infant son Stacy. Mac started his career employed with the Millinocket Foundry & Machine Shop where he was employed for 21years. He then made a career move to Skowhegan Maine with his family. He went to work for Howard P Fairfield building snow plows. He Then made another career choice and purchased Wayne’s Stove & Canoe Shop where he finally retired at age 70.
Mac enjoyed hanging out at the airport and flying his plane in his early years. hunting and fishing with his pals. camping with his family, enjoyed playing sports like golf basketball, softball he played them all.
Mac is survived by his loving wife Sherrie. His Son Stacy and wife Wanda of Detroit. His son Travis and wife Susanne of Canaan. His Granddaughter Paige Curtis and partner Troy McAvoy. His grandson Cash Curtis and fiancé Peyton Hinkel. Five great grandchildren Reese & Ryker & Brynlie McAvoy. Asher & Hudson Curtis. Mac is also survived by stepbrother Brian Tasker step sisters Elaine Scott and partner John Gamble, Sherry and Ross Bradford, Maxine and Frank Storozyszzyn. Special uncle Jack and his wife Doreen Picard. Sister in laws Rebecca Kelly and husband John , Heather Craig and husband Eddie Craig. Brother in laws Davis Morrison and wife Gladys, Mark Morrison and wife Rhonda Also pre-deceased by infant sister-in-law Lisa Morrison and brother in law Rod Morrison. We would like to thank Dr. Lambke for the loving care he gave to Mac. we would like to also thank hospice For accommodating us in such a caring way
