Clinton- Wayman Paul O’Neal
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 15, 2025. Born to Perley and Mildred (Duprey) O’Neal in Caribou Maine on September 29, 1932.
He went to school in Caribou where he played basketball, something he loved and spoke of often. He got his GED later in life which he was very proud of. He worked in the woods and many other jobs. He often spoke about clearing trees while helping to build I-95 from Clinton to Pittsfield. We worked at the Diamond Match mill in Oakland. Later buying a farm in Clinton and raising beef animals.
Wayman and his wife Lena loved going to the Second Baptist church in Waterville which they have attended since 1984. They were snowbirds for many years having places in Maine and Florida.
In addition to his parents, Wayman is predeceased by his stepson Gary Lawrence, son
Bernie, daughters Jo Sallsbury, Shirley, ex-wife Barbara Wayman is survived by his wife Lena who have been together since 1968 and married on February 28, 1970, stepson’s Mike Lawrence, Richard and wife Rosanna Lawrence of Clinton. Son’s Butch of Orrington, Gerry, Warren and Pat of Clinton, Mark, James and wife Debby of Clinton. Daughters Barbara Abbott of Madison, Linda Hebert of Pittsfield, Betsy of Fairfield. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
The family would like to give their heart felt gratitude to Tammy Lamanteer his caretaker and hospice.
