Obituary of Charles Lewis Hill

Charles Lewis Hill III, an artist and entrepreneur with a lifelong passion for design, passed away on January 31, 2025.

His artistic talent was recognized early when he won a stage design contest through the Metropolitan Opera Guild. He went on to study at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and apprenticed as a tool, die, and mold maker in his father’s business before pursuing a career in art and design.

Over the years, Charles worked in product design, contributing to projects in toy manufacturing and jewelry design. His creative pursuits led him to found Meadow Mountain Design, where he continued to develop distinctive and carefully crafted pieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion K. MacGrath, his siblings Richard, Gary, and Joan, and his parents, Charles Lewis Hill Jr. and Lois Virginia Hill (Oates).

Charles is survived by his children, Brian Hill, Eric Hill, Sean Hill, and Kirsten Hill, as well as his grandchildren, Piper Hill, Eliana Hill, Calia Hill, and Andrew Quintana. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy and Sally.

His legacy lives on through his art, his designs, and the impact he had on his family and those who knew him.  Memories and condolences may be shared on his tribute wall.
