Obituary of Lois Christina Miller
Lois Christina Miller
1954 – 2025
Lois Miller, 70, passed away peacefully on January 26th, leaving behind a life well-lived and full of adventure. Born in California, Lois embraced many roles throughout her life—from working as a phone company technician, antique shop owner, special education teacher and health care worker.
Lois had always dreamed of a farm life, and early in her life, she moved from California to Maine in search of farmland. She developed a love for rural living as a child and was an active member of 4-H, a passion she carried into adulthood. She cherished her independence and spent her days surrounded by animals and gardening on her beloved farm. She was always on the go, whether tending to her animals, exploring new places, or attending fairs of all kinds—agricultural, artistic, or local events like Open Farm Day and Maple Sunday.
Her adventurous spirit took her across the country multiple times and beyond, with memorable visits to Costa Rica and China. No matter where she traveled, she always carried with her a fearless attitude of experiencing new things.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Alice Cantrell and her husband; her siblings, Paul Miller, Peter Miller and his wife, Mark Miller, Steve Miller, and Betsy Brister; and her nieces and nephews. She was a woman of action, always busy, always engaged, and always living life her way. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
In keeping with her independent spirit, no formal services will be held. Instead, those who wish to honor her memory are encouraged to attend a fair, spend time on a farm, or embark on an adventure of their own.
In lieu of flowers we ask donations be made to your local animal shelter.
