Dear Friedlander's and friends of Jim,
Please see below a couple of photo's taken with Jim back in 2017 during an 'evening out' when we convinced the Seaside Rehabilitation Home van driver to take us out for an evening around Portland. Our last visit was to the Trader Joe's so that we could buy some of Jim's favorite cheese. Jim was a dear friend with so many ideas for a better world. We met, by chance back in 1984, during a summer work-America program for myself. Working in Freeport at the Polo outlet store, I was fortunate to stay my first night at the Isaac Randal House B&B that Jim loved to run with his wife Glynn. What a wonderful place for all travelers and visitors to Freeport. Jim was a dear friend who was never short of advice or stories, or ideas. Jim was a traveller and he loved to sample the different cultures from the numerous places he visited. We promise to toast Jim and his wonderful life when we visit Prague (one of Jim's many favorites) and the Paris Hotel with our daughter Sarah. Also, to honor Jim, we plan to tour Acadia National park on our bicycles, Inn to Inn of course, what else would be a better and fitting tribute to a wonderful Innkeeper. God bless Jim, thanks for all of your hospitality and memories, Steve and the Wilkinson family.

I send condolences to Jim's family and other friends, whose lives, like mine were enhanced by him. He was liked and admired, and will be long remembered. He and I shared years of spoken and email communication, on philosophy, politics, Uri Avnery and more. See JimFriedlanderWW2.blogspot.com for his account of his life in WW2.
