Obituary of Sonia M. Weaver

Sonia Weaver, 83, died peacefully on December 26, 2020. Daughter of Cleo and Merle Dobbins, she was born March 24, 1937. Sonia graduated from high school in Baltimore, Maryland. She went on to become a fashion model, and she loved to paint, garden and redecorate. She was a talented cosmetologist, even owning her own beauty salon operated out of her South Thomaston home for several years. Sonia had many passions but devoted her life to her special needs daughter, Heidi Lee, of Owls Head. She is survived by two other daughters, Kim Norwood of Levant, and Michele Gagne of Jefferson. Grandchildren Samantha Provençal and husband Devin of Cornville, Michael Robinson of Portland, Jaiden and Shaina Norwood of Levant, and Shannon Gagne of Owls Head. Great grandchildren Matthew and Alex Provençal, a brother Darryl Dobbins and wife Vicki of Warren. Nieces and Nephews Christina Zaroogian and Husband Tom of Warwick RI, Jason Dobbins and wife Kristin of South Thomaston. Sonia was a favorite among staff at Windward Gardens where she had resided since May of 2019. Family was important to Sonia and she especially loved Christmas. She will be sadly missed by many.
