Obituary of Kimberly A. Cumming

Please share a memory of Kimberly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
“Smell the sea and feel the sky. Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic.” —Van Morrison Kimberly Ann MacPherson Cumming was born in Houlton, Maine, the youngest child of Ruth MacPherson and granddaughter of Mildred and Clarence MacPherson. As a child, Kim enjoyed long walks and spending time on her grandparents’ farm, and she was close to her brother Rick and sister Nina. In 1979, she married Gregory Cumming, and they welcomed their first daughter, Kandace. Five years later, in 1984, their second daughter Barbara arrived. Some of the fondest memories shared by their family of four were spending summer and Christmas vacations at Camp in Northern Maine. Kim’s hobbies and creative interests were wide-ranging. Her daughters remember her diving into the study and practice of herbalism, natural healing, ancestry, photography, painting, arts & crafts, and many other creative and spiritual interests. Natural wonders could evoke a profoundly peaceful presence in Kim, as when she would witness a sunrise over the lake or walk beside the vast beauty of the ocean. Kim always had a connection to the spiritual side of life, notably with the angels. Now, she gets to be a guardian angel for those she loves, especially her grandchildren whom she adored: Emma Lord, Ethan Lord, and Linden River Wood. Kim will be remembered for her humor, honesty, wit, wisdom and compassion, which she shared in key and impactful moments through life with those she cared about.
